The Watertown Brewing Co. - Cream Ale beer shirt. "The Watertown Brewing Co. was only in existence from 1893 to 1901. It then became Watertown Consumers Brewing Co. and remained so until 1920. The Northern Brewing Co. Inc. in Watertown “reopened” its doors in 1933. The brewery also had a soda operation and used it to make “near beer”, which became a bit too much like beer. But the brewery made it through Prohibition with a few scrapes, and it continued operation until 1943 when the cooling system failed. They used ammonia as a coolant and the pipes rotted out. Because of the war effort there weren't any replacements available."
